Spanish World Cup Spain wrote a new chapter this world cup in South Africa 2010 when the Spanish national football team defeated the Netherlands 1 - 0 on the final game played at Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg this July 11. The goal was scored by Andres Iniesta about 10 minutes into the second half of overtime. The Andres Iniesta goal made him a hero because his goal was more than enough to help Spain win the most prestigious trophy on earth. Tears of joy where spilled by the Spanish team and fans all over the world when the referee whistled the end of the game. At the beginning of the tournament, Spain was said to be the best team in the world but most people changed their opinion when Spain lost its first game who played against Switzerland in the first round. They regained momentum after they defeated Honduras 2 to 0 and then defeated Chile 2 to 1. After the two triumphs, Spain was an unstoppable machine. The name Spain now has been added to the other 7 names on the list of the elite; the world cup winners which are the best in the world. For the next 4 years, Spain will carry the crown of the best team of all. Even though the world cup came to an end, the Spain 2010 world cup legacy will live on for ever.
